Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
The Level Two Chimney New York Guarantee
We stand behind every sweep, repair, and rebuild we perform in New York, NY, and we put that commitment in writing before a single tool comes off the truck. The guarantee is simple: if the work isn’t done right, we make it right. That promise is stamped on every job we complete, and it holds for a full 365 days from the day we finish. No fine-print carve-outs, no arguing over what “done right” means. If a homeowner in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx can point to a problem that traces back to our workmanship, we return and fix it on our dime. That’s the Haven Standard, and Corrine Halstead has operated under it since 2009, across more than 38,000 chimney inspections and cleanings.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship on every service we perform. From a standard chimney sweep to a full flue liner replacement or chimney rebuild, our labor is covered for 365 days under the Done Right Promise.
- Parts and materials we supply. When we install components from DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, or Copperfield, we handle any defect claim for the parts we provided and installed, so you’re not left chasing a manufacturer on your own.
- Cleanup and site protection. We drop cloths before we start and vacuum after we finish. If we leave dust in your living room or soot on your hearth, we come back and clean it. That’s part of the job, not an add-on.
- On-time arrival, verified. You get a text when your named, background-checked technician is on the way. If we’re late and you’re left waiting, call us and we’ll tell you exactly where the tech is and when they’ll arrive. (H.A.V.E.N. “Arrive on schedule”)
- The written price itself. The quote you approve before work starts is the price you pay. No surprise line items, no “we found something else while we were up there” upcharge, no exceptions. That’s Clause 1 of the Haven Standard: a written price, written scope, and written warranty delivered before anyone starts.
Our Satisfaction Promise

If you’re not satisfied with the work we did in your New York home, here’s exactly what happens. You call (551) 213-5548, a live person answers, and you tell them what’s wrong. We schedule a return visit, send a technician back out, and look at the issue together. If the problem is our workmanship, we fix it at no charge, no debate. If the issue turns out to be something different, like a pre-existing condition we documented in your photo report, we’ll show you that evidence and give you a written price for any additional work you choose to authorize. Either way, you keep the documented photo record from every visit, so there’s never a “he said, she said” about what the chimney looked like when we left. The 365-Day Done Right Promise is not a slogan. It’s the mechanism for making things right, and it’s been tested thousands of times since 2009. We’d rather fix a problem on day 300 than have a New York homeowner wonder whether we meant what we said.
Before
AfterLicensed & Insured Backing
A warranty is only worth the company standing behind it. Level Two Chimney New York is fully licensed and insured, and our insurance coverage stays active on every job, large or small. That matters in a city like New York, where chimney work often happens on rooftops, around parapets, and above occupied brownstones and apartment buildings. If something goes wrong on a job site, the homeowner is protected, not exposed. We also carry bonding, which means if a technician were to damage your property, there’s a financial backstop in place. Anyone you let work on your chimney should be able to produce proof of licensing and insurance on request. We can, and we will. No invented credentials, no vague “certified by the state” language. Just the paperwork, shown to you when you ask.
What You Walk Away With After Every Job

Every visit from Level Two Chimney New York ends with documentation, not just a handshake. Specifically, you receive:
- A written scope of work. What we inspected, what we found, what we did, and what we recommend for the future.
- A documented photo record. Clause 4 of the Haven Standard requires a photo record on every visit, and we’ve kept that archive practice running continuously since 2009. You’ll see the flue liner, smoke chamber, damper, crown, and any areas of concern in the photos, not just in a technician’s notes.
- Camera-scan inspection results. For NFPA 211 Level 2 inspections, the camera footage itself is part of the record, so you can see the interior of the flue with your own eyes.
- A written warranty. Not a verbal promise. A piece of paper that states what’s covered and for how long, signed and dated.
If you’re comparing chimney companies in New York, bring us a competitor’s written estimate. We’ll give you a free second opinion on it, line by line. Sometimes you’ll find their price is fair. Sometimes you’ll find you’re being quoted for a liner replacement when you only need a sweep. Either way, you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for and why. That’s the entire point of the Haven Standard: no guesswork, no pressure, no “trust me” pricing. You call (551) 213-5548, we give you a number, and if you hire us, that number doesn’t move.
What We Don’t Do
Just as important as what we promise is what we refuse to do. We won’t recommend a flue liner replacement, chimney rebuild, or crown repair unless the camera evidence shows it’s actually necessary. We won’t tell you a chimney with Class III creosote, the hardened, tar-like glaze that poses a real chimney fire risk, “looks fine” just to save you money. And we won’t perform work you don’t need just because we’re already on the roof. When we find an issue, we show you the photos, explain what the condition means in plain language, and give you a written price for the fix. If the repair can safely wait, we say so. If it can’t, we tell you why, with evidence. That’s the only way Corrine Halstead has run this business since the day it opened, and it’s the only way we’ll run it tomorrow.
